15th Polish Festival at Fed Square
Listopad 17 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm AEDT
The Festival features an array of song and dance performances, merchandise and culinary delights guaranteed to transport you to the historical town squares of Europe. Now in its 15th year, the Festival brings a taste of Poland to Melbourne and transforms Fed Square into Little Warsaw.
The Main Square hums with lively Old World atmosphere, with colourful dance and music performances as well as unique shopping opportunities. From exquisite amber jewellery to unique Boleslawiec ceramics and talented local artisans displaying their handcrafted wares, this truly is a market like no other.
Children (and the young at heart) can get their face painted or dress up in traditional Polish costumes at the interactive photo booth. There are arts and crafts activities for kids, where they can make wreaths or a mask of the ‚Smok Wawelski’ (Wawel Dragon).
The dancing isn’t limited to the stage – there will be Polish dance lessons for adults and children throughout the day.
Of course, a taste of Polish hospitality would be nothing without the fantastic food and beer. Although pierogi (dumplings), kielbasa (sausage) and bigos (hunters stew) may be a mouthful to say for non-Polish speakers, it’s guaranteed you will leave with a love for Polish food. Spend time with friends, and make some new ones, in the Beer Garden with a variety of Polish beers and vodkas available.
It is well known that when Poles get together, a good time is assured. Come along and find out why.
